Upper Rad Hose Size
I'm gathering the bits I need to replace the water-pump on my 89 LTD. I have new pump, new rad and heater hoses, new thermostat and gaskets.
One possible issue is that while the replacement moulded upper rad hose (Prestone 82600) appears the be the right shape and the right length, the OD of the hose is smaller than the one that's on the jeep now by about 1/4 inch (just eyeballing it). ID of the new hose measures: 1 3/16" at the Rad end and: 1 7/16" at the thermostat housing end.
Is the relative smaller OD on the replacement hose likely a case of the old hose being in service a long time (original hose I think) and it's bloated from the heat/cycles?
