I don't mean to be blunt but it sounds like your brain is trying to justify the cost. you are not going to see miracle results after one or two tanks of fuel... Like a proper, healthy diet it will take time and steady (correct) doses of cleaner to get results. Also tracking MPG is a good (more scientific) way to track how your engine is doing.

The butt dyno is way too easily to fool.

yeah...not that excessive...i meant...i only fill up ~$25-30 (~half tank or so, no need to burn fuel to carry fuel running around town, eh) and that's like once every 2-4 weeks, when i remember!...it doesn't hurt given all the 'additives' in a gallon of gas - how much is really fuel?!?! ...you can achieve the same by using regular unleaded for less $/gal and add a bottle of injector cleaner for less than the difference in the price of the premium on a tankful to justify costs!

...yep...now they are finding out that the ethanol (organic based fuel) can turn into 'fuel fungus' and really screw up some systems! tame/sensitive gasoline engines and their systems cannot handle organic fuels like the diesels do.

Be careful with those additives. They can cause more problems then they cure. I do not add cleaner to bad fuel. The engine is working enough trying to burn the bad fuel itself let alone FI cleaners...
One of the reasons I stay away from certain stations is the water content. I know of some stations (specifically locations not brand or company) that have not pumped out or cleaned their tanks since they opened more then 10 years ago!

If I ever get bad fuel I add Water Zorb and try to get through the tank. Water Zorb is used in boats many times to combat water in gasoline and ethanol based fuel systems. I have also heard some good things about the finch fuel catalyst... honestly I'm still skeptical...

I don't know about anyone else but, to me, ethanol causes problems. I avoid all of the off-brand stations for that reason. If the pump says ethanol, I move on.

We did a fairly serious test of ethanol and straight gas in our motorhome with a V10 Ford. Ethanol cost us, on average over three years, about 10% in mileage. This is running a week on ethanol, then a week on gas, then a week on ethanol, etc. Bear in mind, it costs the same as straight gas...if not more.

No scientific...but made my mind up.

ethanol has it's place. It can absorb water yet mingle with gasoline and move it through the combustion cycle.

Kind of like how an egg can mix with both oil and water.

However you are correct in high enough concentration it will decrease efficiency and damage your fuel system.

one of these every week lol.

as I allways say, I've used seafoam through the intake (hotsoak) on over a dozen different cars from hondas to bmws over and over and never once had a problem, only excellent results. I have been taking out the o2 sensors lately though. It helps to pull the fuel injectors and clean then as well after, good time to upgrade to some 4 holes to.

ive been using sea foam on all my cars, friends and familys cars too. ive never liked the method of pouring it down a vacuum line, too hard to regulate. Ive made up a little machine that where you pour the seafoam into, and then it screws into a head with a pickup tube that reaches to the bottom of the container. On the top of it, ive got a hyd flow restrictor (just a little one). then i hook that to the vac line, start the car up, and turn the restrictor to allow just a drop or two a second. Works fantastic, and keeps it from burning out the O2 sensors.
