Default unidentified noise

Hello,

I have an 01 xj 4 wheel drive. I'm getting a creaking noise coming from either the front drive shaft rear u-joint or the bearing/seal at the front of the transfer case. I found a youtube video that sounds exactly like it but no one responded to his same question. Can anyone help me with an answer?
Thanks,
tim

You've got birds nesting under there? Probably the double cardan joint in the front driveshaft.

Radi,
Hey, nothing would surprise me. Thanks for the response. I can handle the u-joint replacement but I'm not real confident with the seal on the transfer case. Looks like I'll try the u-joint first this weekend and see what happens.

Thanks
