Default Unexplained smoke/steam from under hood

!998 Cherokee Limited, 4.0. My wife drove it to the store and when she pulled into the parking spot, smoke or steam was coming from under the hood on the drivers side. Nothing seems to be leaking. No problems driving it home and no more smoke or steam. I just got in from driving it around and everything seems fine. Temp was steady at about 210, oil pressure was good.

Anyone have an idea on this??

This happened to me about a week ago.

I have a 98 country.

I ran it fine all day and then I started smelling something burning, I thought it was someone else.

I got home and on the passenger side wheel well smoke was coming out of a hole from inside the hood.

I popped the hood and nothing came out, but still smoked in the wheel well.

Never happened again? WTF was it... Kind of smelt like a burning rubber, but it was from the hood, wasn't tires.

She ran over a puddle of water, saw steam -- then began freaking out, called you and debated calling the fire dept. Turns out it was just a wet road which then lead to steam coming off the hot engine and exhaust.

Check your fluids if you're still concerned..and call it a day.
