Hi guys,

99 cherokee sport, under the drivers seat is a cleanly cut square of removed carpet about 6"x6"-sheet metal of the floor is visible-weird. Pass side is normal.

Would this be for the ABS computer if equipped (I don't have ABS)?

 

That's where the airbag controler is on my 97.

 

same thing on the 98 a recall moved it i bet thats what yours is

 

Hmmm, I also meant to say there are 3 studs under there in the corners too.

 

Same thing on my '99, came that way brand new off the lot. Nothing to worry about.
