Default U-Joint Selection Help

I have a 1997 XJ 4wd with a dana 30 up front that has a solid axle. I want to replace my U-Joints and was wondering if I can put the Spicer 297X U-joint in my existing stock axle shafts like Iron Rock has done here:

http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/Merch...egory_Code=XDT

Or are there some better options that I don't know about?

Any help would be much appreciated. I have searched and read about this, just couldn't get a straight answer like i wanted.

Spicer 297X has been superceded by 760X...1.18" dia. bearing cap...should fit your 97 but measure just to be sure. If you want greaseable, go with the NAPA 377. Some say that the greaseable aren't as strong but the advantage is in being able to get all the water and dirty old grease out.

I've been running the 760's in my D30 axles and they do well. I think they're $25 bucks or so.
