turn signals and windshield wipers stopped working

Default turn signals and windshield wipers stopped working

emergency blinkers work but the turn signals and windshield wipers just stopped this morning.. they were both working fine last nite...89 with 266k miles

any ideas?

Did you check the fuses?

Did you check for power on both side of fuse when key in run position ?

Blue ignition box on the top of the steering column, may well be the culprit. They like to burn up and the accessories are the first to go. If you need one make sure you tell them tilt or not two different switches. You don't have to drop the column to check it or change it, but it will make life a world easier.

Very good possibility this is the culprit.

The ing switch on top of the column I think is the problem all the things that went wrong with yours went wrong with mine have to drop the column make sure if the plug is melted you replace that as well...

Last time I changed it I didn't drop it, but it took about 20 min longer and a band-aid.

Yes I was but you've got to get it unwrapped from around the brake pedal assembly(think that was it)
Honed ALOT of my skills on a 77 K5 I had that I believe was inspired by CW McCalls song "classified"

ok when i drop the column how do i know if the ignition switch is bad? and where do i buy one? stealer?

Auto parts store should have one for like 25 bucks or less just make sure the connectors are not melted . The only difference in switches is tilt or no tilt steering column

u know whats funny? on the way back home from work i smelled electrical burning smell for a few seconds.. and shortly after that my blinkers went out.... lol
