Sometimes, when using the left turn signal, instead of the regular clicking sound, I get an electrical buzz/clicking sound. The signal doesn't come on. If I switch back to the default position and then back left, the regular sound and operation normally occurs.
I'm thinking there must be a short in turn signal mechanism?
Would the fix be as simple as replacing the turn signal arm/switch, or is there some other brain that I need to be looking at to find this short?
Any other ideas?

Hmm.. Could be the relay. But I'd guess that would effect both L and R function? Make sure your e flasher switch isn't impeding function. Mines funky and needs to be FULLY engaged in he off position otherwise, no blinkers..

Another strange thing: if I turn on the warning lights, only the left signal flashes in the dash (though both lights flash on the front/tail of the vehicle.) I'm guessing I have a short in my switching mechanism.
Has anyone ever replaced one of these before? It looks like the part runs about 40$, how hard is it to replace in the steering column?
