Hi!
1990 XJ

I’m trying to get the electronics for my turn signals and position lights in order after the PO had fun with it.

Everything works fine now after trial and error on mocking up wires, installing new flasher, new bulbs and cleaned up sockets. The only thing still to fix is that both arrows light up on the dash regardless of left or right turn signal prompt.
I will clean up the fuse sockets etc but there is a blue wire in the front still unconnected which might have to do with it?

does anyone know where this is supposed to go and if it could effect the respons on the dash?

The lamp under the headlight is both a parking light and turn signal. It should have 2 elements. The blue is the "parking". It should have 12v with the headlight switch ON in both the mid position (park lights only) and "full " position (headlights too). Supposed to take a 2057A bulb (yellow). That bulb may be too small and not draw enough to flash. Do both sides light up when you select R or L? Do the rear ones light?

Also don't think those Wago's are waterproof.

thanks!
I was a bit unclear about the background here, sorry.

in Sweden (and I believe EU if it’s not a us import) where I live you cannot have yellow parking lights, that’s why the bulbs are not yellow and I will put a white cover on there. What I want is only the amber side signal and those small amber ones on the fenders flashing when turning, not this square one. The square one working only as a white parking light.

The lights work this way now when turning the left/right prompt, but the dash turn signal lights flash simultaneously always.

I guess the blue wires not connected now are the ones from the relay turning the bulbs on and off when turning, and the ones I have connected now goes for the parking? The question is wether leaving the blue ones unconnected can lead to my dash signal lights acting up?

oh and the Wagos are only for mocking up 😊

Not giving up on this! 1990 stock (?) XJ
My front parking light/turn signal only has 2 wires connected - one ground and one power. From what i understand this bulb socket is supposed to have 3 wires connected and 2 filaments in the bulb? There is no place to attach one more cable so I’m thinking maybe the socket has been changed at some point and that could cause both my arrows flashing on the dash simultaneously?
