Default turn signal issue involving brake pedal??

Theres a real short summery to this problem, whenever the turn signals or hazards are on and you hit the brakes, they go dim and stop working, what could possibly cause that?? any help would be greatly valued! thanks

On 95-2001 models, check the plug at the back of the multi-function switch. See if the screw that secures it, in the center of the plug is tight or even there. I just ran across one that had all kinds of strange crap with the brake lights, hazards, and turn sigals going on. The screw was missing and the plug was loose. A new screw and the problem was solved.
