Default Tune up on a 2000 XJ 4.0

So looking under the hood it looks like a Coil on Plug set up. Is there a wire set? Anyone have any suggestions on plugs (I know thats opening a can of worms but I have to ask). Fuel filter? Is it servicable?
The reason Im looking to do this is that my mileage went from 16-17 first two tanks of fuel to 13.5 this last tank. Id rather spend my $ on a lift and tires but I just bought this thing and want to make sure its 100% before I do that.

For plugs Bosch Plat. 2's is what we use, but Autolites are just as good.
For fuel filter info go to autozone.com and go to the how-to section, that is the best I can do for that.

This where auto zone says it is: "Under vehicle, center, below cargo area, mounted on top of fuel tank, in fuel pump module". Hope that helps!

Your 2000 has coil packs and no wires. Get a set of Champion plugs and as far as the fuel filter its in the tank and servicable alone.

Thanks guys. As far aas the plugs go Ill probally stay away from Champion but I was thinking of going Platinum. Sounds like the fuel filter is in the tank part of the fuel module. I have to build an "airbox" to keep the heat of the filter the way it is now (ghettoed buy previous owner) and do a set of plugs in it see if that helps.

Go with Champion. I know they are less expensive, but I've seen the 4.0 not take too kind to the platinum plugs.

I run champions and will continue to do so, they are cheap and work like a charm. Why run anything else?

I usually save the Champions for my lawn equipment. Ive had pretty good luck with Bosch. Ive run them in everything from 350 Chevys, Suzukis, Geos, but I know some motors dont like them. But if other are running them Im willing to give them a chance. How much of a pain are they to change?

Took me about 20 min. to change mine. Its not hard at all. I run autolite platinums and have had no problems.

Autolites are preety decently priced and work well. Just about the same as Boush!
