Default Trouble w/ exhaust manifold replacement

Hello everybody,

I'm in the process of swapping my exhaust manifold and motor mounts. Everything has gone smoothly until I tried to reattach my power steering pump and the power steering bracket. I can either get the bolts started on the pump into the side of the intake manifold and then the bracket won't line up, or I can line the bracket up and the pump won't line up with the manifold. Anyone have any suggestions on how to reassemble everything? I've literally spent 2 hours trying to find the sweet spot to reassemble it all and its driving me nuts.

Thanks exjay. I'm probably done with it for the day unless someone has a solid suggestion and will start fresh again tomorrow.

Are you assembling the bracket loose, and then tightening, or are you tightening the lower bracket tight first then trying to line it up?
Do it all loose the tighten, the pump goes first then the lower bracing can be "adjusted" as needed.

Unfortunately I figured out the problem the hard way this afternoon. The intake manifold wasn't seated on the dowels properly, so while trying to boss the power steering pump back on I snapped off both of the tabs that sit on the dowels. Looks like I'm going to be going to the junk yard to try and find a new intake manifold.

It sucks I just bought 703 injectors, otherwise I would use this as an excuse to upgrade to the 99+ style manifold.
