Trouble Shifting from 1st to 2nd
Hello Everyone! I know this topic has been discussed on this site in other threads, but I am hoping to get an answer to a particular question on the subject.
I have a 1996 Cherokee Country 4.0 4x4. It is having trouble shifting from 1st to 2nd. I have to get the RPM's up to about 3000 then let off the gas and then it will shift. I have already replaced the TPS and have adjusted the kick back cable. I have also unplugged the TPS and tried manually shifting through the gears but still had the same issue.
I am trying to decide to either replace the TCM or the shift solenoids and am hoping you can help me choose which one to do next. I am pulling the following codes:
P0340 - Camshaft pisition sensor A. Circuit Bank 1 or single sensor
P1899 - P/N switch stuck in park or in gear
P0138 - 02 sensor circuit High Voltage Bank 1? Sensor 2
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time!
Jason

WELCOME. It will shift up to second at 4k rpms. Mine would always shift out of first at about 2500rpms until I cleaned my NSS(neutral safety switch).
