I just left that bolt installed and put the discos on.

 

I thought about that, but the factory bolt is smaller than the inner diameter of the RC bushings. I'm just going to take an air grinder to them at work tomorrow, then get out the hand destroyer (air chisel) and knock the remnants through. I don't know how much more smashing the brackets can take.
