Trouble code P0423 & Clunk sound help !
Hello 2000 cherokee sport 4.0 179K miles. Just got done putting new o2 sensor bank2/2 . New exhaust front pipe ack to tailpipe including secondary Cat convertor . Threw code which lead me to replace O2 sensor, everything was fine . Went for state inspection & Passed. Now after a 100 or so miles I am getting P0423 code .
Has anyone dealt with this code and any idea where I should look to fix code. Jeep runs fine , only issue is when I put it drive first thing I hear a clunk sound from front end drivers side ? Won't happen again till next day
Is there a mount or something else . Took it to alignment shop couldn't find anything ?...

Check this thread out for that code:

P0342 is for your catalytic converter, bank 2. Do you have the version with 2 pre-cats on the exhaust manifold and then one main cat under the car? The cat itself could be fried.
The clunk is probably unrelated, but could be bad motor mounts or trans mount.

O2 sensors can be duds right out of the box, here is a way to test that new o2 sensor. If it reads back correctly then it it is reporting that the cat is bad. X2 on the motor mounts causing the clunk.
