Awesome! Mine didn't even budge when using a 125PSI impact wrench. 1/2 ratchet didn't do squat either.
What kind of compressor did u use? Did u use one of those "2" gallon air compressors? They often don't have enough cfm to drive heavy air tools.

Mine came off with a 1/2 ratchet, no cheater. I saoked it for a few days and tapped it occasionally with a hammer. Try finding a penitrating oil called Kroil. Its been mentioned on here before. Its what we use at work. Also get you a small MAP torch, heating it and tapping with a hammer. Itll come out eventually...juet be patiance

I got mine out with a impact wrench on passenger side, I just kept going in forward and reverse until they came out or broke. one broke and I had to buy a air hammer and chisel to knock the nut out. first time I ever changed shocks ever.

Regardless, it just blows my mind that he bought a Jeep that looks like it spent several years of its life at the bottom of an ocean and now he's too scared to actually work on it for fear of breaking something....

Totally. I didn't grow up around this stuff like you did.
Topside of the XJ is great. I had no idea XJs become insane rust buckets underneath. POS! My foreign cars are older, yet don't have a drop of rust underneath. Also makes the XJ the hardest car I've ever worked on, bar none.
