Either the Transmision or Tranfer case. Does it make any noise or even try to move when you shift it into gear. We need more info. Motor, Transmision auto or manual, tranfer case. If 4wd is the 4wd shifter push ALL the way forward?

ya man, sorry. Not to be rude but we really need more info than that. don't know if your new to jeeps, but the are a ton of trans issues with these rigs. For us to be able to help you, we need to know if it makes noise in gear, does it move slowly (creeps forward), does it even allow you to go into gear? stuff like that. oh, and is it a chrys. or Asian trans. also, to let you know, these trany's (the asian especially) are pretty dang close to being indestructible. So other factors need to be looked at before deeming that trans inop.

I have a Xj 98 4.0 L 4x4 automatic and the transfer case is making a little bearing noise...and it seems to be at the rear end of transmition where the driveshaft is connectted...when i m up to 75 mph and i keep the engine at almost neutral rotation, i mean not reducing speed and not getting speed...i can rear a noise that sounds like a bearing or chain...otherwise none noise and just a vibration..... I checked u joints and driveshaft, transfer case oil is full, ...How should i go to start fixing it? I m in Brazil and i usually buy parts at Quadratec or Mopar.biz...any recomendations
