Transmission speed sensor
Ok so i had a code to change transmission output speed sensor. Well its 1 bolt to get it out but the bolt just keeps turning. So i pulled the whole piece out which included a gear. We have exhausted all options to get the bolt to unthread but the internal nut just keeps turning. Does anyone know what the part that the sensor plugs into is called?

What year, engine, transmission, and transfer case.

If I think I know what I'm doing, I'd say you are working on a 1998 + Cherokee with an AW4 tranny.
It sounds like you are pulling the Vehicle Speed Sensor, not the tranny Output Speed Sensor. The VSS has a gear on the end of it and the Output Speed Sensor has no gear.
If you could post the actual fault code maybe we could help you out here.

It was P0720 which is output speed sensor. The bolt to take out the sensor was stripped. So i had to put the whole housing out to try to get it out which cant get it to budge. So i need to find the part that the sensor plugs into.

I have a TC adaptor but you can't have it, it's holding up my spare 242. Nanner, nanner, nanner.
In any case, if you have a transmission extension (2WD) or TC adaptor (4WD). the bolt that holds the transmiision speed sensor on is M6x1.00x16.00 MM.
If you have the part out, maybe you should try to use a Helicoil to repair the bolt hole.
