Angry transmission mount

When i was removing my cross member the dang bolts snapped on the crossmember and now im screwed. I called auto part stores looking for a transmission mount but they dont seem to carry them. I have a 2000 cherokee sport with the 4.0. Anyone know where i can buy a new one at?

I purchased my new transmission mount from O'Rielly's (AKA Checker, Shucks, CSK) for about $32. With the abundance of AW4's on the road I'd think just about any parts house would have them or be able to get them.

If you have a NAPA around they will most likely have several in stock or they can order it for you. Costs 35 bucks or so.

They don't list one for 2001 either, but we all know 00 & 01 Jeeps have crossmembers and tranny mounts and didn't only come with Manual Trannys either....... they didnt change anything in these final years, most parts store monkeys will just read off what the computer tells them is available etc, and thats the final answer followed by "sorry we can't help you with it"... Wanna have some fun..... Ask them to find a water pump for an 83 corvette...... LMAO!!!! thats another story, but funny as hell.......
get the 2625 tranny mount and fix your jeep, it should be the exact mount you are searching for....

If not, you can laugh at me....

Good Luck.
Bryan.

Go back to the parts store and tell them you need one for a 1999. They are the same. If they give you any crap tell them to STFU!

Yea those bolts are a headache waiting to happen. I was told by a mechanic friend to spray PB blaster throught the frame and coat the bolts. Keep doing this for a few weeks and hopefully the bolts will break loose and come out easy. No freaking way. I snapped the first one on the drivers side. Spent the next hour on my back drilling out the broken bolt so I could run a tap into the hole and replace it with another grade 5 bolt. Surprisingly the other side came out without breaking. The problem with the autoparts stores is the mount is not called a "transmission mount". They have it as "Rear Engine Mount" and a few other names nowhere associated with the tranmission.
I googled "transmission mount" for a 96 jeep and came up several part sites that use that 2625 part number and they fit years 84 and up. Check a few sites, get their part numbers and then call your local parts store and give them that number. They may use the same number.

Those bolts came out really easy for me (perhaps it was the generous amount of oil and tranny fluid that covers the underside of my 96 XJ).

But I did snap two of the bolts that hold the tranny cross-member brace to the frame...
