Default transfer case plugs 231 to 242 swap

Hi im new to the forums as far as posting goes but ive been reading them for a while the last few months as ive been puttiig my jeep together. i had a peuguet pos trans that blew out everything but 4th gear in my 89 jeep cherokee. i got an exernal slave 23 spline ax15 with 80k on it thats in and i had to get a 23 spline transfer case so i picked up a 242 from the junkyard. my old transfer case had the 4 vaccum line plug on it where the new 242 just has an electric plug what do i need to do to make my 4wd work in this situation as far as the vaccum lines go? ive searched and havent found this answer yet and have been looking at all the transfer case swap thereads please help thanks

you have a newer 242 from a jeep without the vacuum system. Easiest way would be to plug off all the vacuum lines, and move the shift actuator in the axle over. Look in the xj writeups for the title "free d30 CAD bypass"

you will not have a 4wd light, but thats not that big of a deal.

hmm ya i guess i could do that. what about swapping the tailshaft housing over from the older tc that has all the right sensors on it? would it bolt up besides the fact that the wrond tag would be on the case but i dont care.

anyone know if the end part of the case will swap that has the sensors on it

i would take defiance tip. mine was all jacked up and he helped fix it. my 4wd works great now. dont really need a light saying im in 4wd for two reasons. 1) when you do the cad bypass your already locked in. 2) you can feel it lock in. so whats the point of the light. just do like he said
