Tried everything, heat, 6 point socket, pipe wrench, PB... Now the fill plug is wasted!

Now the pipe wrench slips so no mas for me. Called a shop, he said that he will use heat and a chisel to get it out.

What kind of a-hole tightens a check plug so tight?

I'm so pissed because a simple, cheap drain and fill is going to cost me 4x's as much as it should, if I'm lucky.

Nope, this Jeep has been nothing but bad luck. I am still dealing with the leaking tranny oil cooler line fitting at the radiator.

I am about ready to say screw it and not even change to fluid.... Some other poor soul can deal with it when I sell it.

At this point I would weld a short rod to it, and then use a pipe or a small bottle jack handle and see if I can pry it off. Or you can weld another slightly smaller nut on it.

if you have a grinder very carefully take an grind a line across the plug so you can put a flat head screw driver on it. and try it that way just put a crap load of PB on before you try an remove it........ just an idea, i have never tried it....

Not sure, but fairly confident that the screwdriver trick wont work here. Less its a HUGE one.

Well, went at it one more time and got it.

After talking to the tranny guy regardling the chisel I thought I would give it one more try. The problem was when it was tightened so tight it smashed the plastic washer causing it to fold back covering part of the head of the plug. Not much, but enough to not allow the socket/wrench to seat properly.

Anyway, I chiseled back the washer, heated it up with the heat gun for about a minute, said my prayers and WALA! The funny thing is when the I finally drained the fluid, it looked brand new....

Now for the damn tranny oil cooler line....

Thanks for all the responses, couldnt have done it without.

Glad to hear that you got it! When you are working on these older rigs, finesse and patience is the key.
