Default Transfer case drive chain problems

Hey guys, ive got a '95 cherokee with a np231 transfer case that seems to tick while driving. The noise has gotten progressivley worse over time. Also when i shift into 4H it seems that the front drive shaft does not fully engage, and begins to shake. A buddy of mine suggested the drive chain in the case may be loose or broke. Not sure what to think. Any insight would be awesome. Thanks! Wes.

Mine makes a noise that while moving resembles the sound of a bearing of some type. Im not sure why. Probably just going to have to pay the mobey for a rebuilt transfer case.
