Trans no shift

Trans no shift
I changed the crankshaft position sensor on my 94 xj sport 4.0 automatic today. I took it out for a drive and it won’t shift out of first gear. Anyone else ever have this problem? It doesn’t matter if I have it in D or start in 1-2 then move up to D. Is there some sort of way to check if the CPS working also does it would it affect the transmission?

CPS can be checked but ideally with an oscilloscope which you likely dont have 
Is it starting/idling ok with the new CPS?
And it was shifting fine before the change?
Has that been the only thing done?
