OK I just bought my daughter a 1994 Cherokee laredo it got some trans issues when taking off it wont shift into 3rd gear if you down shift manualy and back to drive it will shift in to 3 rd and over drive but sometimes it will shift back to 2nd by its self if I shift shifter to 2nd and back to drive it will shift and go into overdrive any Ideas it is not slipping when it shifts the shift is smooth Thanks For All Help

 

maybe a NSS issue (neutral safety switch) if not try a fluid/filter change or even better take it to a tranny shop for a checkup
