tranny problem

Default tranny problem

i have an 88 jeep cherokee i just got done lifting it 8.5" front 9.5" rear with 35's. i test drove it for thirty mins and parked went inside for 2 mins tops came out and trannys fluid was leaking everywhere. my uncle said he saw the rubber plug in the pan shoot out destroying the rubber plug. what would cause this to happen when parked and not driving? any help would be awesome i just got it lifted and i cant drive it im goin nuts

Overheated tranny and a blocked vent = blown-out stopper.

Clean the mud out of the vent on top of the tranny.

You might consider adding a bigger trans cooler since you went with bigger rubber (with no mention of taller gears). The trans has to slip more with the lower gears/bigger rubber combo.

i replaced the tranny about five months back and i made the vent tube longer and ran it in to the engine compartment, can it be too long maybe

Blow through it and make sure it's not clogged. Did you use the little plastic "hat" on the end of the tube to keep debris from getting in it?

It's not too long but could it possibly be kinked?

yeah its still got the little "hat" but ill have to check to see if it got kinked or pinched when i put the t case drop on thanks guys
