How much would a tranny cost at the scrapyard or is anyone selling an aw4

 

You didn't say what year ? and if you want the transfer case or not .

 

before you do anything, read the guide that tells you what year trans will go into yours..that is a must

over here, a used trans from a wreckers advertised ~$350 - 750

check your local "craigs list" or whatever, usually somewhat cheaper

 

At my scrapyard, the transmission will run you about $150. Just checked inventory and they have a 2001 and a 1996 in the yard.

 

Local pull-n-save yard here charges $77, with a $20 core charge. You do the removal, although once in a while they'll have engines and trans pulled already. You also have to watch that they sometime drain the pan by punching a hole in it. You looking to just replace the trans to resolve that broken cooler line fitting?

yeah my dad is gonna help me drop the transmission and tap it and put in a new fitting and if that dosent work I will probably need a new tranny
