Default Tranny Bolts

Just got my tranny bolted back up last night after putting it off for months.

Got the top two bolts in (the one with weird e14 heads that i replaced with regular 3/8"-16 grade 8 bolts) and the side two 7/16"-14 bolts back in.

I can't remember if the bolts that i'm missing hold any brackets on, do anything fancy, etc. Does anyone know?

Look at my picture. I'm referring to the one on the very top (between the two 3/8" bolts).

Just realized the ones on the left hold the CPS on. Remembered as i was typing this.

That middle hole on top is for the spacer. I used a button head bolt to hold the spacer in place while I mated the trans to the engine. Nothing is required in that hole actually.

Thank you. I put a 3/8"-16 bolt in there and called it good.

Few other questions pertaining to the tranny you might be able to assist with.

1. I just flat out hate the metal tranny lines. They're not lining up, i have to move them all weird, pressure them into place, etc. I remember reading about converting them to all rubber. Can't find the writeup now. Happen to know anything about this?

2. Starter bolts. Any idea what thread/pitch these bolts are? My top bolt bent and the bottom one i'm not sure what size it is. The hole already looks stripped so i'm proably going to have to drill out the bottom bolt and heli-coil it.

Can't help you with the rubber transmission cooler tubes.

The top starter bolt is M10x1.5x30MM, the bottom bolt is 3/8-16x1 3/4"

That's a great pic-Thanks for posting. Don't forget to put the CPS in while you have it like that. Should be a breeze.

I know I didn't appreciate Jeep having two different size starter bolts!
