I've tried finding a thread about trailer lights but each one is not what I'm looking for, I recently put a hitch on my xj and need to wire lights, is there a harness that is plug and play? And I understand the connector is behind the spare tire panel but i cant find it. Can someone take some pics of their wiring and post it?

what year cherokee? (No idea if it matters, but doesn't hurt to post more info) What are you trying to wire in? flat 4? flat 5? round 7? I don't have any pics, but i did recently try and re-wire mine on my '92. I couldn't find a panel behind the spare, only way i could get to mine that i saw was behind the taillight assembly. There was a plug for mine, but the whole thing was going through a rubber grommit and didn't look like it was meant to be just "swapped" out. I ended up splicing in a new flat 5(bad idea). Just a tip, if you don't tow much or know much about wiring, get a flat 4 wiring harness. it seems to be the standard. if you plan on towing a lot, get the round 7, lots of adapters that go back to a flat 4 from the 7. It is all new to me, and that was my short lesson i got, heh. hopefully that helps a little bit...

I have 1996 cherokee and I want to install a 7 pin harness (I dont do much towing but the trailers I will pull are mostly 7 pin). Do you know of any companies who sell this harness?

check your local auto parts stores, RV stores, and trucking stores. Odds are pretty good you will have to order one through one of them, but you never know, they could have one in stock. good luck!
