The track blues
Hey all,
I've been doing some research, but cannot really find what I'm after.
I've got a 4.5" rusty's lift in my 91 w/ extended LCAs, adj track bar, TC drop installed. I noticed that my front axle is not centered. With the tires straight looking from the front, I can see one side has about an inch or so of tread sticking past the fender flares while the other side is in about an inch.
The jeep rides pretty nice with no shakes until 65 mph. I recently had it aligned, but not by an offroad performance shop or anything.
The only problem I'm noticing really is that my tires are wearing (one on the outside edge, one on the inside edge.)
Seeing as I do have the adjustable track bar, should I adjust it until everything's centered? Is there a better way to see if it's centered? Easiest way to adjust the track bar? Will I need an alignment after that's done?
Thanks!

Yes you need to undo 1 end of the track bar to adjust it. The purpose of the trackbar is to keep the wheels centered.
Redo the alignment afterward. http://go.jeep-xj.info/HowtoAlignment.htm
Also have tires rebalanced.
