step one, turn signals, brake lights and markers
step two, disconnect battery cables.
step three, key on to unlock steering so it can track with the RV.
step four, IF you transfer case is in Neutral then your transmission doesn't matter, but I would put it in Neutral as well to be safe. I also toss a bungee cord from the bottom of the steering wheel to the brake pedal. This just keeps a little tension on it and it seems to tow better. If memory serves even with the tranny in Neutral then your still putting miles on the odometer.
Then your ready to go!

Just read about this in a Q&A section.....let me see if I can find it...
From JP magazine:
Leave the tranny in gear and the T-case in neutral. The reason you do this is to keep the transfer case input from spinning. Essentially, you don't want any residual spinning to find its way to the tranny. The parts inside the tranny may not be lubricated properly without the input spinning (engine running).

Not trying to hijack the thread, but how about on a car dolly with a 231 t-case? Does the rear drive shaft have to come out? It doesn't seem like it would have to...
