Default towing

Yesterday, I pulled my little boat on a 70 mile trip, the jeep does okay with it, I ordered a trans cooler, and a gauge for it today. When I pulled it in 3rd it ran about 2500 rpms to go 55mph, but I put it in overdrive and it still pulled okay at 2100 rpms. I don't know how much the boat weights it is a 1548 wellbuilt aluminum boat with a 25 hp engine, is it better to pull it in 3rd? It doesn't really feel like it is in a bind in overdrive.

usually you don't use overdrive when towing. the low gear is too hard on the tranny with heat and all.

The cooler will help alot. Let us know how you hook your gauge up.

It will probably be a week or two, but I will try to take some pictures when I put it in.
