If you don't have the factory tow package I assume you don't have the trans cooler

It's not little and black though. The tranny cooler is 6"x10" or so with 2 rubber hoses running to and from it.

I don't think the factory auxiliary cooler is anywhere close to 6"X10"......maybe 1/2 that. The B&M #70264 auxiliary cooler is way bigger than the OE auxiliary cooler.

I have access to grade 8.8 hardware at work but should I be using grade 10.9 to mount the hitch?

Threadjack!

What is an HD Clutch? Will this make the AX-15 XJs able to pull a heavier load without burning the clutch up?

HD usually means Heavy Duty with automobiles

I doubt u can do anything to the XJ manual tranny that would increase the factory tow rating. One other thing to consider is manual tranny XJs have a numerically lower rear diff gear ratio......lower numerically gear ratios are less conducive to towing performance.

Yeah but manual tranny's are lower geared then auto's... Hence the taller gear ratio in the axles. As previously stated, the weakest part of the manual tranny as far as pulling is concerned is the clutch. If you put in a upgraded clutch your towing capacity will increase. Manual tranny's are excellent for towing, as long as It has a clutch that can handle it.

At 0.79 vs 0.75 final gear, the auto with a 3.55 rear will be more conducive to towing than the manual with a 3.07 rear.
