will a bad speed sensor couse the torque converter to not lock up

it started to go on and off erratically now nothing

 

It's one of several causes for no TC lockup.

Why do you suspect the speed sensor isn't working?

 

it was loose and after I tightened it up it started to act up
didn't seem to spin well with my fingers

 

could it be the NSS the back up lights stopped working about the same time

 

well I did some work on it today
and it was the brake peddle that was causing the problem

the peddle was not returning all the way and it was making the brake lights stay on
so I fixed that and it fixed the TC lock up problem
the brake is connected to the shift control and will disengage the TC lock when you hit the brake
