Default Too much rust to buy?

Hey guys, I'm hoping I'm posting this in the right spot. Looking for advise on a potential purchase for a '96. Lots of rust. Being sold for $600. I'm wondering how long a frame like this will hold up? Thanks for any advice in advance.

YES!!
Unless you want it for the drivetrain & get it for $300 or less.

Pass on it unless you need it for a parts jeep only.

Take your time find the most clean and virgin xj you can.The 4.0 can run 300k if taken good care of.Look for 91-99 years skip the 00-01 they have a few problems you don't want. And don't be scared to look at a grand cherokee either. But if you do skip the 4.0 in the 99-02 grand cherokee.

Good advice, thanks. Finding one with minimal rust for under $2000 in Michigan is turning out to be next to impossible.

150,000 miles or the end of the driveway, whichever occurs first.

its who had it and how it was treated. my 2000 is almost rust free on outside. the floor needed work and its solid now .runs great but has some engine noise, cant tell if its inside or out right now.
ive done a lot of little things since i got it,put about $300 but i paid 1200 out the door! so im at 1500,shiny black, tinted windowsAND a sunroof!!

Are the problems you are referring to the piston casting problems that make the pistons blow? I'm curious as I have been trying to answer that question for months!!
