Default TJ Suspension in an XJ

Ok heres the deal a good friend of mine just went long arms on his TJ and is giving me his old lift, arms shocks links ect. I know the rear spings in the TJ are a little shorter but is there any reason that I cant use all the parts in two XJs. My gf might be getting one for her self soon so would like to use as much as I can of the free parts along with what I might take out of mine and put on hers.

the TJ has coil springs in the rear, so you'd have to do some fabbing to fit the rear suspension. as far as i know the front of the TJ is pretty much the same or very similar to the XJ so no modification needed up front. except lift heights would be different (i.e. 4" lift springs for a TJ might only be 2" on an XJ, or something like that)

Default swapping..

Same as what cheapcherokee said. The fronts are the same but the rears are not. If you want to stand apart then maybe changing your rear suspension over to coils is the way to go.

A TJ long arms suspension won't fit a XJ, without serious modification. The only thing that Might fit is the trackbar and front springs. Some TJ front parts fit in stock form but that does not carry over to aftermarket parts.

Dyslexia strikes again!! Yeah front have of the lift will fit. Now go to a Junkyard and get S-10 or Dakota spring to build a bastard pack to match. Sell the rear half of the lift.

Rear lowers are actually about a half inch longer. The rear coils will be 3-4" shorter than the front so if they are for a 4" lift they will be roughly the same as stock XJ springs. Front will be about 1/2" shorter according to lift numbers (4" TJ will be about 3.5" XJ).

The upper controls arms on off the TJ will fit but the XJ bolts will not work. You will need to buy some 3/8" bolts. I just used my buddy's TJ RE parts and that was the only thing that didnt fit. The XJ bolts were just to big for the TJ upper control arm bolt holes.
