Default tires wearing

i put a 3" rough country lift on about a year ago, and have 255/70/18 and the outside of the tires are wearing pretty bad. i was told cherokee can not be aligned because the have a solid axel. does anyone know how much this might cost at my local tire shop? or if they can even do it? thanks for the help!!!!!!!!

A good description goes a long way on the internet. First off -

Front or rear?

Left side, right side, or both?

Wearing on the inside of the tire, outside of the tire, center or the tire?

Does it have a pull, push, or drift to any direction while driving?

Do you check your air pressure frequently?

x2

but what balderdash that the fronts cant be aligned, as for the rear, if there balding out on the back you might have a lot more problems then alignment.

Rule of thumb, balding on the outside of front tires is too much toe in, balding on the inside is too much toe out.

it is both front tires they are wearing on the outsides, back tires are not wearing at all. i know the difference from being toed in or out but i need to know if a wheel alignment will fix that i was told there was cams in the front axle that you need to mess with. also it drives perfectly straight down the road.

Yes, these require alignment. Before you take it to the shop make sure you have replaced any worn shocks, steering, dampers or sway bar parts.
Most shops will not align it untill they charge you to fix the other stuff. Skipping this step will only result in continued poor tire wear. Average alignment cost is $65.00

Have the front end aligned, but be aware that the abnormal wear will continue even after the alignment. Once a tire has abnormal wear it will continue to to wear that way, you may only slow the wear down at best. The tire does not grow rubber after an alignment.

x2, i was gonna say, once you have the alignment done, put the worn tyres on the rear.

my front tires are wearing odd. I got some Good Year MTRs and the wear is making tons of noise now. Its every other outside lug is worn. I got brand new OME shocks and I got a $90 alignment right after my lift. (4x4 parts shop)
I did a tire rotation at 4k. What gives?

Are you saying the MTR's are stair stepping the tread?

Is this what you call it? And this only happens to MTRs?

Raising the front end increases the distance between the steering gear box and the axle, pulling the tie rods in and giving too much toe in. An alignment is also in my future.
