Maxxis Bighorns
I've had mine in sand, snow, mud, water, rocks, logs, clay and on shear ice. These things will get you through or over whatever you point them at AND here's the kicker, They are as quiet as any all terrain on the road even at highway speed. I've had 33s on my XJ for a couple of years now. Can't wait to get 35s when these wear out but, darn they're not even close. Oh and go ahead and price compare for yourself but, you won't find any of the other tires mentioned in this thread for as good of a price as you will find Maxxis Bighorns.
