Every now and then I get great gas mileage. Johnson City all the way to San Antonio, the needle never moved!
And yet somehow it was still a very expensive drive...

Its forum etiquette to search for answers yourself then ask questions in separate threads instead of bumping a thread that is eight years old to ask an off-topic question.
Give this a try:

To answer your question, Dodge Neon injectors (also used on other vehicles). 703's or 784's depending on what year you have, which you should put in your signature, along with other info about your Jeep,

Stupid gizmos like the Tornado won't do it and neither will any other snake oil.
There is a thread around here that goes on and on for 30 or more pages, all devoted to mileage improvements. I don't know if it's still going on, but after a few years of trying this and that, the thread starter gave up.
What results did he get? He posted his mileage after all of his efforts, and they were slightly worse than mine, and the only thing I have done is the injector upgrade and basic maintenance.
All that fancy-schmancy stuff? I have done NONE of it.
So there you are.

like mentioned above those help... i may do a few myself especially the exhaust and o2 sensors 11 mpg hurts lol. but maybe a little weight savings as well spare tire and any unnecessary weight but that depends on how extreme you want to go for like 50 pounds of weight savings lol you trade mpg for reliability with these. orrrr if you dont mind looking stupid there was a thread this guy made to make your jeep more aerodynamic also if you arent afraid to hypermile do it i hear alot of people did this with excellent results tho risky.

Stop wasting your time. Other than basic maintenance and driving habit changes, there is very little you can do.

Want the best mileage possible on your XJ?
Keep it bone stock.
Remove as much weight as possible.
Keep it running in tip top shape.
Keep your tires properly inflated at all times.
Drive it like a retarded grandpa.
When you drive it, do it in a tailwind. Downhill. In neutral.
Realize it's a rolling brick, then switch to a hybrid. Which is really no better overall.

lol take the doors off theres your weight savings there. then remove the hood boom instant weight savings AND better cooling and remove the exhaust. then remove the hatch for less weight. (kidding dont take it seriously)

If you seriously want better mileage if your area is like mine. Pick up an old beater toyota or a gas sipper for cheap. I seen some go here for under 700 dollars. Then that means you have 2 cars so you can work on your jeep and not worry about wrecking your daily lol. Kinda digged this old toyota paseo, 5 speed and had 91k miles with all service records for 650 bucks! A friend wanted to buy it so i test drove it for him and after a long drive i bought it for him and drove it to him and filling up on gas that sucker got 39 mpg at 55 mph the whole way there. Oh and with an 11 gallon gas tank it was such a cheap little fun car. So thats a suggestion atleast.
