Default Timing Chain question

97 xj-The haynes Manual says to inspect timing chain and it should have 48 pins on chain. The napa chain I bought today has sixty four pins. Is this normal or could they possible have given me the wrong chain?

THanks,

Are you talking links? Another thing man, get rid of the Haynes manual. We've told you that numerous times haha. Get an fsm. I think k it's pacific coast manuals and 8 bucks I believe.

I'm assuming it's the pins holding the links together. Haynes is all I have right now. I've looked for Chilton but cant find. I'll be changing timing chain in next day or so...Wish me luck. Im a newb

You don't want a Chilton either. Try this.

THanks,
Count the number of chain pins between the timing marks of both sprockets, not all the pins on the chain
