Also get a good brass punch for the seal... Pushing it through stumped me for hours!!! Also, push on the correct of the top seal to get the top seal off (i think driver side???). I pushed the wrong side... Even though i read better from someone. While i had the pan off, i put in a new oil pump. If you do that make sure it has the sump filter. I had to hammer it in carefully although they make a tool for it(i found out after i brought the pump home).
I have a 2000 and the problem I'm running into is the exhaust on mine runs along the side of the oil pan then makes a bend under the pan. It blocks 3 or 4 of the bolts . Any ideas. Do I need to unbolt the exhaust ? It almost touches the oil pan.
