Default Time for the conversions.. I need some input..

Alright, so I have come to a few decisions for my '91 Laredo. First off, the weather here has been near 100*, and the Jeep is starting to run warm (not in the red, but prob around 225-230*) Plus, Im butchering up the stock air box and making a cold air intake (I dont offroad, never really enjoyed it, so its my to school, then work, then home, and on a trip vehicle) and I have a few questions about that.

First off, the overheating. I want to swap the mechanical fan out for an electric one. What electric fan should I use, how do I mount it in the stock shroud, and is there a way I can make the primary fan cut on at 210*, shut off at 200*, and keep the stock e-fan strictly for its original use of cutting on at 220* and when the a/c is on?? Also, does this coolant look clean to you? The green coloring is normal, but I think I see some junk or something.. Also, when I got home, I looked at the overflow tank for the coolant, and It was way up past the full mark, however I went back out a couple hours later and it was where I originally filled it. Normal?

Heres the pic of the coolant:

Now for the cold air intake. I want to keep the lower portion of the stock air box (for one to keep water out of the filter, and two to act as a mount for a heatshield I want to build. My question is how many and what kind of tubes and/or wires are running to the airbox? I know the PCV elbow does to the side, and I think I see one from the rear CCV running to the side back. And also, what is this square tube running from the bottom of the airbox to the rear of the headlight?

Thanks for all the help everyone. I appreciate it.

Little hard to tell from your pic but looks like crud in the neck of the rad. Here's what the coolant in our '98 XJ looked like when we bought it.

Square tubing should be your fresh air intake behind the grill/lights for the airbox and filter. Hope this helps.....

All does help. I'm glad I found that out about the square tubing. I'm going to slice that out and place either a larger tube or a mini-fan there to aid in drawing in air. As for the crud in the coolant, what do you all think I should do about it?

Either take it in and have it flushed or go buy a do it yourself kit and flush the poop out of it!

I got a flex-a-lite fan from summit. Hard wired it to a switch along with the stock electric fan. I took off the fan shroud(spelling?) and it works great. Make sure you get a fan thin enough so it doesnt hit the engine and break. My temp never gets above 170 but I have a flow kooler high output water pump and thermostat.
