Default tie rod replacement

Hi everyone. I changed my tie rods this weekend. All 4. Is there a torqe spec on the tightening of the bolts? It feels a little splashy, almost like I'm running without sway-bars.

Also, side note... don't waste your time on a pickle fork, or labor, my new best friend is a grinder. I had a hard time removing some of those michigan rusty bolts, and just zipped them right off.
Thanks in advance for any help or opinions offered.

4 tie rods?

You prolly mean TRE's. Not sure of torque when I do them it is as tight as possible then back off till I can get the cotter key in. Castle nuts rock.

Haha well for those of us that don't live in rust city, ignore that advice

As far as torque, the castle nuts should be torqued to 55 ft/lbs

I tightened them till I couldn't, then backed off if necessary to get the pin in. Thanks!

You should be fine then. If the steering still feels sloppy, then your problem lies elsewhere

If they are castle nuts then the torque would actually read something to the extent of 50-60 Ft Lbs.

I could see a retarded perfectionist drilling a new hole to stay at precisely 55 ft lbs. lol
