When I'm reusing them I use a clamp-type puller. If replacing them I use a pickle fork and a BFH.

As odd as it may sound, sometimes you can strike the drag link, right where the TRE goes through it, and that shock will free it. It has worked for me on numorous vehicles!! HTH!! If you can't manage with these suggestions, you may have to use a little heat!!

I use the two hammer method any time I can

one big hammer behind the part that the tie rod end is pressed into
then hit the nut with the other hammer

this will reduce bounce and give your hammer strike more punch

Let us know. I just jump straight for the heat to get it loose. Heat then a whack on the pickle fork and they usually drop right out.

Hey Guys,
I picked up a pickle fork and a 10lbs sledge. everything came out after just a few taps, BUT. The "death wobble is still there. i've replaced all 3 tie rod ends, and the RH Outer tie rod, where the steering stabilizer connects. any ideas as to what it is? It also has a new steering stabilizer. any ideas? could an out of balance wheel, make it jump so bad i cant control the vehicle?

yes it could. I rotated my tires and one that was on the back had thrown a weight. got up to 55 and it started shaking really badly. had to slow down as I thought it would fall apart. rotated the tire back to the back and took it to the shop. had them rotate and balance all my tires and everything was fine.

Ball joints, CA bushings, steering box, track bar bushing, the list goes on and on. There are several things that can cause DW. Just start checking things off the list as you go. Good luck!!
