Tie Rod End Help...

Tie Rod End Help...
I bought a new tie rod for my front end. I want to replace the ends while I am doing it.
I went to advanced auto parts and I thought they would have a diagram on the computer but they do not.
they have listings for inner and outer tie rods for the driver and inner and outer for the passenger side.
What are they talking about? Which ones do I need they really had no idea which was what.
I imagine that the tie rod end for the driver side would be the outer? and the other end of the tie rod would be the passenger inner?
Wondering if someone could help clear this up?
