I am getting a weird ticking noise from the rear of the block near the firewall. I only hear it when the motor is shut off. The noise slowly fades away after a while but i'm kind of concerned. any thoughts?

+1 what RTorrez1 said. The cat gets quite warm as well as the exhaust pipe/manifold upstream of it. Every vehicle I've had starts doing this as soon as heat production stops and it's cold out

I am fairly sure it's not that. The ticking Is very rapid and slows down after a while. It sounds like something is spinning. No, it's not the fan.
