Hi everyone..I have a 2000 xj sport with the dana 30 front. Just recently noticed a ticking noise in the front end at very low speeds. I thought maybe it was a u-joint so i put it in 4 wheel and turned both directions with no ticking...the sound seems to be coming from the drivers side...any help is appreciated
I'd lift the front end and spin the tires by hand, see if you can find the source.
U-joint, hub, brake pad... I'm betting U-joint. Putting power to it (in 4X4) changes the dynamics, instead of being driven by the wheel, it's now supplying power.
