Throttle cable/kick down cable?

Throttle cable/kick down cable?
so i tried searching but the only adjustment ive seen are on AUTO Xjs.
i have a 4.0 5speed. this morning i drove to the store and as i shifted into 3rd gear the rpms got stuck around 3000. made it home popped the hood and the cable had slack above the manifold, straightened it out and it seemed fine.
so do 5speed models have the "kickdown cable"? i only see 1 cable that goes straight to the gas pedal and throttle body.
