Default throttle body butterfly screws?

2001 4.0
took the throttle body apart to clean, inspect and replace sensors.
The 2 butterfly torx screws: Locktite - Blue?, Orange? or Red?
torque specs on the screws?

No one takes the butterfly off the shaft...any color loctite you want and MANTIGHT on the screws

If your boring out the throttle body you'll be removing those screws. But yea use Loctite and MANTIGHT them.

guessing I'll be using the red locktite,,, as the last thing my new engine needs is to be ingesting 2 little screws.

You do understand that the red cannot be removed without serious heat, right? I think that plate is aluminum. I doubt it would survive.


Blue will do the job just fine.

Side note: I have yet to find "yellow" that I sometimes see during disassembly of OEM stuff.

Its probably Precote 30, which is yellow. Never used it myself, but i have seen yellow thread locker on replacement caliper bolts. Usually Ford, some aftermarket. I dont think i have ever seen yellow Loctite. Loctite 404 comes in a yellow bottle, but it comes out clear.
