Thermostat no longer works...help!
The other weekend, I installed a new clutch and TC and now my water temp gauge no longer works. When I turn the jeep on, the water temp gauge goes all the way up to 260 then drops down to 0 and stays there. As I didnt do anything with the motor, so unsure why it would suddenly stop working, the min i get down working on the jeep.
During the install of the clutch and TC, I had to disconnect the clip to the tranny (unsure what that one does) and the 2 clips to the TC (one is the speedometer, the other unsure of). I also disconnected the O2 sensor(believe its the O2, the one on the exhaust pipe).
I made sure to connect the 4 plugs once done, but still no water temp. I unplugged the clip to the water temp sending unit and plugged it back in to ensure it has a good connection and no help there either. So at this point, think its just the sending unit that went bad or possibly another issue?

RESOLVED. Near the back of the engine block there is a plug attached to the firewall. When I lowed the tranny/TC, the back of the block sunk down, wire reached its length, then popped out. Hooked the plug back up, working again. Simple fix.
