looking to replace my thermostat on my 1988 Cherokee. where the heck is it located?

I hope that you are kidding??? If not it's in the t-stat housing. Just fallow the upper radiator hose and it in the part that is located on the engine block (t-stat housing) at the end of the upper hose. When you replace it try to get an OEM t-stat and it should be 195deg. Apparently you have never changed one out so when you put the new one in make sure to put it in the same direction of the old one and DO NOT over tighten it or you will end up cracking the housing.

I think RTorrez1 ment to say 195 degree thermastat, not 95 degree. Brain fart, I'm sure!

 

You're right it should be 195 and not 95. I corrected it.

 

.....and the t-stat cover is located on the head.....the water pump is on the block.
